The Clan MacThomas Diamond Jubilee Gathering will be based around the Scotland's Hotel in Pitlochry (illustrated) between Friday 22nd and Tuesday 26th August 2014 . The 25th August is a bank holiday in England but not in Scotland. The Society has reserved all the rooms in the main hotel.
****
The hotel has a gym, swimming pool and spa. Please use the link beneath the photograph to view more images of the hotel.
*****
A special concessionary rate of £62 per person per night for bed and breakfast has been negotiated. Children under 5 are free and those between 5 and 12 years will be charged at half price when sharing with two adults. It is hoped that this should enable all those attending to stay under the same roof.
*****
Pitlochry is 26 miles north of Perth just off the main A9 road to Inverness. It has a main line railway station with connecting trains from Edinburgh, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Inverness. The hotel is within easy reach of the station and the main street in Pitlochry with its range of the highland outfitters, boutiques, restaurants and traditional public houses. It is some 20.5 miles (33kms) by road from the Clan lands in Glenshee.
*****
The four day programme is wide ranging and intended to be suitable for all ages. A provisional schedule is set out below. It will include the traditional ceremony at the Cockstane in Glenshee, the local Strathardle Highland games , a formal dinner, a ceilidh and time spent touring Clan related sites in and around Glenshee. Early children's dinners with a special menu can be arranged and we hope to organise some special activities for the young - so please bring them with you.

Countdown to

Gathering 2014

(Explanation)

So that old friendships can be renewed from the outset, members are encouraged to arrive as early as possible on Friday afternoon and certainly no later than 6:00 pm. The rooms in the hotel will be ready from 3:00pm and registration will start at the same time.
*****
The celebrations will start at 7:00pm when the Chief and Lady Finegand look forward to greeting members from across the world at the opening reception. It promises to be a great weekend.
*****
Members are asked to book their rooms at the hotel as soon as possible - the button above gives full details. At the same time you are asked to use the "Register" form to tell the Society that you are attending. You will then be asked early in 2014 to book for the various key events. Clansfolk who are not members of the Society will be welcome at the Gathering but will be charged a booking fee.
*****
Further information about the Gathering Hotel, Pitlochry and links to interesting websites will be added to the website shortly.
