Members and friends who attended the Clan Gathering in
Glenshee in 2011 will recall that we introduced local
wildlife artist, Michelle Hewitt, and her pastel
painting of a Scottish Wildcat - reproduced right. The
original painting was auctioned at the Gathering
and bought by one of our members in Norway.
Other members purchased other items featuring
the painting - including prints, greetings cards,
key-rings and place mats.

Prior to the 2014 Diamond Jubilee Gathering in Perthshire
your Treasurer suggested to Michelle that she should produce
another Wildcat pastel painting. Sadly, due to unforeseen
circumstances, the painting was not ready for the Gathering
and could not be offered to members.

Michelle did complete the painting shortly after the
Gathering and was fortunate to be able to sell
the original to a visitor during the Perthshire Open
Studios event, which takes place in the area every September.

was scanned prior the original being sold. He does not,
however, know if any prints or cards were produced.

in the month of September should consider taking in part of
the Open Studios tour - please click here for further
details. In 2016 the event takes place between 3rd and 11th
September. The orange route usually passes close
to the Clan area in and around
Glenshee.
