Reminder

Members and supporters, who have booked a "Package" to attend
the MacThomas Highland Gathering in August, are reminded that
their "Gathering Charges" have to be paid to the Society
before 30th June 2017. This charge forms part of the
total price quoted for the Gathering. Letters confirming
the amounts due have now been sent by e-mail or, where we
do not have an e-mail address, by post.

Highland Gathering in Scotland. If not it should arrive very

MacThomas Highland Gathering 2017 - Latest

Full details of the Gathering have been
published in the Clan Magazine, Clach na Coileach, and an
accompanying brochure and newsletter, which have now
been despatched to all current Society members across the
world. The newsletter contains instructions on how to book for
the Gathering - the deadline is 20th February 2017. The
newsletter and brochure can now also be downloaded from the
member's secure area of this website. Please click on the
"G2017" logo to view an itinerary for the
Gathering.
An electronic booking and payment system
will be launched on the website early in the New Year. We
encourage members to use this on-line system to book their
rooms, packages and events as this will ensure that all
information is promptly and accurately recorded and that
reservations are passed onto Scotlands Hotel in a timely
manner.

Gathering 2017 - an
Update

During September 2016 newsletters were sent
to all Society members and followers giving details
of the plans for the 2017 Highland Gathering.
The originally published dates for the event have been
adjusted so that a visit to the Royal Ediburgh Military
Tattoo can incorporated into the
itinerary. Clansfolk in tartan will be able to march
onto the Castle Esplanade as part of the performance.
This is a once in a lifetime opportunity.

Clan Gathering 2017

It is expected that the next Clan MacThomas
Gathering in Scotland will take place in Perthshire
between Wednesday 23rd and Monday 28th August 2017.
The Gathering will again be based at Scotland's Hotel in
Pitlochry. Planning is already well under way. Further details
will be published on this website in due
course.

Andrew MacThomas of Finegand, the 19th Chief of Clan
MacThomas, and his son and heir Thomas (Tom) will be
distinguished guests at the 44th Annual Stone Mountain
Highland Games and Scottish Festival, which will be held in
Atlanta, Georgia, USA between 14th and 16th October,
2016.

have a tent on the Games field. Clansfolk in North
America are uged to take this rare opportunity to meet
their Chief and his heir .

A number of members have used the Scotland's Hotel website to
check whether rooms are still available for the Gathering. We
should warnyou
that the information on the hotel site (and other similar
booking sites) is not accurate because all the rooms in the
hotel have already been reserved for Clan MacThomas. The sites
therefore show that no rooms are available. For Clan MacThomas
members there are still rooms
available - to find the latest situation please telephone or
e-mail the hotel direct.

Clan MacThomas Gathering 2014 - Theatre Trip

On the Monday evening of the 2014 Gathering we have
scheduled a trip to the Theatre in Pitlochry. The play that
night will be "Passing Places" by Stephen Greenhorn.

The Pitlochry Theatre offers significant discounts for
group bookings made in advance. Members wishing to take
advantage of discounted tickets should contact us by
20th February at the very latest

Clan MacThomas Gathering 2014

The Society has announced that the Clan Diamond Jubilee
Gathering will be held in Pitlochry & Glenshee, Scotland
over the English Bank Holiday weekend of 22-26
August 2014. Details of the hotel, together with
provisional details of the programme, were announced in the
2013 edition of the Clach Na Coileach magazine, which has now
been mailed to members across the world. This information can
also be found by clicking here.
It is too early to give firm information about the Clan
Diamond Jubilee Gathering in 2014. However general infomation
about events in Scotland in 2014 can be found on both the
Clan/Society News page and the News from Scotland page on this
website.

Chief to attend Greenville Scottish Games in
USA

Andrew MacThomas
of Finegand, the 19th Chief of Clan MacThomas, has accepted an
invitation to be the Honored Guest at the 2013 Greenville
Scottish Games and Highland Festival in South Carolina, USA.
The Games will take place at the Furnman University in
Greenville on 25th May 2013. The Chief will be accompanied by
Lady Finegand. It is expected that Finegand also will attend
events in the Greenville area on 24th and 26th May.

The US and Canada Branch Gathering will be
held at the St. Andrews Society of Detroit Highland Games in
Livona, Michigan between 3rd and 5th August 2012. It is
expected that there will be a Ceilidh and a Clan Banquet. The
Branch business meeting will take place at the Kilgour Center
in Troy where the Clan MacThomas Society library is now
located.

Society Clan Gathering -
2011
The Dalmunzie Hotel
The 2011 Clan
Gathering based on the Dalmunzie Hotel in Glenshee, Scotland
will take place over the weekend of the 27th to 30th of May.

remember that formal Glenshee Gatherings are only held every
three years.
Members who are
planning to attend this event can now register and book for
the various events using the button on the right.
The
Branch regrets that this event has been cancelled due to lack
of member interest. It is hoped to hold such an event in the
future.
The European branch will be holding a Picnic in
Richmond Park in South West London, England on Saturday, the
28th of August 2010 between midday and 5 pm. All members,

Wisconsin Games
The
U.S. and Canada Branch will be holding their 2010 Branch
Gathering between the 3rd and 5th of September 2010 in
conjunction with the Wisconsin Highland Games at the Waukesha
