The Clan MacThomas Society will be
hosting a tent at the Strathardle Highland Gathering at
Kirkmichael, Perthshire, on 26th August
2017. We will be happy to welcome visitors from
home and abroad, and are especially interested in meeting
those who have connections to our 'sept'

Andrew MacThomas of
Finegand, 19th Chief of the Clan MacThomas will be in
attendance from around 1:00 pm to mid-afternoon and you may
have the opportunity to meet
him.
Back in the 15th and 16th Centuries the Clan MacThomas
held territories over the hill in Glenshee and in
Glenisla. There is now a thriving Clan Society
dedicated to preserving the history of the Clan, researching
genealogy and promoting kinship. International
Gatherings are held every 3 years and this year's is
centred at Pitlochry. It includes a visits to the Royal
Edinburgh Military Tattoo, the Strathardle Gathering and
authentic clan feud reenactments.
The tent at the Strathardle Highland Gathering will house
an impressive display of photographs and articles relating to
the Clan, its history and territories as well as photographs
of previous gatherings and events. Come and
meet our clansfolk - a warm welcome awaits
you!
Members
of the Ems Highlander Pipes and Drums from Germany, who wear
MacThomas Tartan, will this year feature in the
musical events at Strathardle.

Reenactments at Clach na Coileach in Glenshee and at the Park
in Glenisla on Sunday 27th August 2017. These events are
