New regulations regarding personal information security
came into force across Europe on 25th May 2018. Under the
new 'General Data Protection Regulation'(GDPR) anyone
signing up for a membership is required to give "consent"
for the Society to hold and use their personal information
in accordance with our Privacy Statement - see footer.
*****
We have modified our on-line membership form so
that applicants have to confirm their consent by "opting
in". Under the new regulations a pre-filled "opt in" box is
not permitted.
*****
Regretably it will not be possible for anyone who
declines to consent to become or remain a member of
the Society since we would then have no way of communicating
with that person.
*****
Because the master membership records for the Society
are held in the UK, members living outside the area subject
to the new regulations are still required to give their "consent".
*****
The form below can be used by applicants who fail to complete
the tick box when applying for membership using our on-line form.
If you have again questions about this process please contact the
Society Treasurer.
*****
Members have the right to ask for their details to
be removed from our records once their membership lapses.
If you wish to do this please contact the
Society Treasurer.
*****
Any member has the right to ask the Society to see
details of the personal information that the Society holds
about them. To do that please again contact the
Society Treasurer.
