Scottish Wildcat Update                                                                                 Back

We have regularly reported that the Scottish Wildcat (Felis sylvestris sylvestris) is at risk, partly as a result interbreeding with domestic cats. Hardly a week seems to pass without the efforts to conserve the pure wildcat being reported in the press or on news websites. The campaigners seem to be doing a good job at promoting the cause.
*****
Clan MacThomas is, of course, closely connected to the Scottish Wildcat and an image of a cat holding a serpent features on the Chief''s badge.

It is becoming increasingly difficult for your webmaster to identify and publish detailed reports on all the current conservation and research activity on this website. It has therefore been decided this new page to the site listing brief details of recent reports and links to relevant websites. We expect to add links on a regular basis so please remember to come back and visit this page on a regular basis. If you have a particular interest in wildlife it may be worth adding the page to your favourites bar.
