The Branch will join the activities at the Highland Games of
the St. Andrews Society of Detroit at Livonia, MI. where we
will be an Honored Clan. Founded in 1849, these games
are the oldest continuous games in North America. For more

***** A block of rooms has been
set aside for Clan MacThomas attendees at the Embassy Suites
in Livonia. Please make reservations with the hotel, (mention
Clan MacThomas), for a rate of $89 for a king suite: '734-462-6000.
The rate includes a fully cooked-to-order breakfast and a
complimentary evening reception (5:30pm –
7:30pm). Rooms at this rate will be
held until July 13th. A free shuttle to the games site
is available from the hotel on Friday and
Saturday.

3rd: We will gather at the hotel in
the late afternoon to meet and get acquainted, then proceed to
the Greenmead Historical Park in Livonia for the Ceilidh
- live music and entertainment at a traditional Scottish
party. Food and drink will be available. The
MacThomas tent will be set up for Gathering. Tickets are $15.

August 4th: Attend the Scottish
Fair 9:00am to 6:00pm at Greenmead Historical Park.
Enjoy piping, dancing, the heavy games, historical
reenactments, and the Celtic marketplace. And be sure to visit
the MacThomas tent for conversation and to rest your legs
during the day. Tickets are $10.00 (In
advance). If you have some MacThomas tartan,
bring it for the Parade of Clans. For those interested,
there will be 2 Scotch Whisky tastings during the day - cost
is $20. As seating is limited, tickets should be ordered
early. ***** Saturday
Evening Enjoy a reception at the
Embassy Suites, 6:30pm - 7:30pm and stay for dinner at the hotel,
7:30pm. We will order off the
menu.
***** Sunday, August 5th: Exercise
your membership rights by attending the Branch business
meeting at the Kilgour Centre in Troy, Michigan, starting at
10:00 am. Following the meeting, we will dedicate the
MacThomas library with members of the St. Andrews Society,
then enjoy a light lunch together. Stay to browse the wide
variety of books in the library. Cost of the lunch will
be $11.50, including tax and tip, paid in advance. Map to the
Centre will be provided. ***** Bid your fellow Branch members a fond
farewell and take home memories of your extended family and,
we hope, your new friends. ***** Ordering

events may be purchased individually on line on the games
website: www.highlandgames.com.
(The exception is the lunch on Sunday
which must be ordered via the Branch and paid for in
advance).
