This Scottish hardwood Clan shield comprises a beautifully
detailed hand painted crest and motto mounted on an authentic
Clan MacThomas Ancient tartan backing.
It features the Chief's Crest (a
wildcat holding a serpent) within a buckled strap bearing his
motto: 'Deo Juvante Invidiam Superabo' - ("With God's help I
will overcome envy").
It is produced in Scotland by M
W Stephens Limited of Blairgowrie - a Standard Council of
Scottish Chief's approved manufacturer - so authenticity can
be guaranteed.
It measures approximately 7.0
inches (17.9 cms) wide by 7.9 inches (20.1 cms)
tall

The crest is personal to the
Clan Chief and protected to him by the law in Scotland.
Clansmen can display the Crest provided that it is encircled
with a strap and buckle bearing the Chief's motto.
