The Crested Clan Badge can be
used in a number of ways including as a cap badge or as a
lady's brooch.
It features the Chief's Crest (a
wildcat holding a serpent) within a buckled strap bearing his
motto: 'Deo Juvante Invidiam Superabo' - ("With God's help I
will overcome envy").
The badge is made from old
fashioned pewter with a plated finish of Palladium to prevent
scratching or tarnishing.
It is produced in Scotland by
Art Pewter Limited - a Standard Council of Scottish Chief's
approved manufacturer - so authenticity can be
guaranteed.
It measures approximately 1.6
inches (4.1 cms) wide by 2.1 inches (5.4 cms) tall and has a
traditional locking safety pin which is designed to be strong
enough to withstand general wear and tear.
Note:
The crest is personal to the
Clan Chief and protected to him by the law in Scotland.
Clansmen can wear the Crest provided that it is encircled with
a strap and buckle bearing the Chief's motto.
